WELCOME

The Mount Pleasant Optimist Club in Brant, Ontario, is a local service club supporting youth in our community. We host several community-based activities and events. 

​

Club members volunteer to maintain the Nature Ponds Park, a retired fish hatchery with three large ponds. 

​

Club members also volunteer to maintain and coordinate the rental of the Mount Pleasant community centre.

2025 T-ball and Slo-pitch Registration

​T-ball and Slo-pitch are sponsored by the Mount Pleasant Optimist Club, along with many Mount Pleasant community businesses. It is for children from Kindergarten to Grade 8.

 

Registration is now over. Teams will be determined in the next few weeks, and your child's coach will contact you regarding start times. 

Baseball is on Monday evenings starting May 5th and going until the end of June at the Mount Pleasant Community Park, 536 Burtch Road, Mount Pleasant.  Jr. and Sr. T-ball and Jr. Slo Pitch starts at 6:30 PM, and Sr. Slo Pitch starts at 7:30 PM.

If you have not paid for your child's registration, please do so ASAP by transfer to mpobaseball [at] gmail.com

Nature Ponds

Nature 

The Nature Ponds Park is a beautiful natural space in the village of Mount Pleasant. The historic fish hatchery and ponds are the focal point of the park.

Community Centre

Rental 

The Mount Pleasant Community Centre, located at 711 Mount Pleasant Road in the village of Mount Pleasant, is maintained and operated by volunteers from the Optimist Club.  â€‹

Supporting our youth

Bursary

The Mount Pleasant Optimist Club created a student Bursary in 2016 to support youth from the Mount Pleasant community who are committed to continuing their education.  â€‹

Become a member

The Optimist of Mount Pleasant in Brant, Ontario, supports our local community by providing events and activities for local youth. Members volunteer to coordinate the rental and maintenance of the Mount Pleasant community centre. Revenue supports local youth in our community.

By joining, you can give back to the community, help youth become better citizens, and foster a safe, happy environment. Membership also offers opportunities to meet neighbours, make new friends, and contribute to community well-being. Meetings are held at the Community Centre from September to June on the first Wednesday of each month.

Volunteers

The Mount Pleasant Optimist Club hosts many events and activities for the youth of our community. We always welcome more volunteers! 

 

High school students can get volunteer hours by helping out at our events.  

​

Volunteer activities include: 

  • Ice rink maintenance (November - February)

  • Hall gardening and weeding (May - September)

  • Nature park grass cutting and garbage collection (May - October)

  • Snow shovelling at the hall (November - March)

  • Coaching T-ball and Slo-pitch (May - June)
